The Passage of Stars

In the snowbound silence of her tribe’s ancestral land, the girl stood alone, gazing at the Sky’s Eye: a perfect, unyielding circle torn into the clouds, revealing the brilliance of galaxies beyond. To her people, it was an enigma, a presence that had watched over them for generations. Its purpose remained a riddle, whispered about only in fireside tales.

Far away, deep in the southern regions, three magicians approached a colossal structure carved into the mountainside. Its shape was impossible to ignore: a perfect circle formed by stones that seemed placed there by an intelligent hand. Within its hollowed depths swirled an unearthly vision of the universe, galaxies spiraling with infinite grace.

The gateway offered no explanation, only a silent vision of what lay beyond: a glimpse of infinity, beautiful and terrifying in its vastness. The magicians understood then that their journey was not to cross into this other realm, but to confront the part of themselves that longed to do so.
